This is a catalog of of the more interesting books we have on hand at HQ. I will take requests for a book review of any of these, feel free to post book reviews, books you are reading, comments on any books, or links to your blog on books here as well. I'm listing them here in case someone might need some information from them, such as making sure the book is worth purchasing and also seeing if what they are looking for might be in the book, in the case of charts, diagrams or rituals. We'll help you out as much as we can. This will be a more formal list than the old forums, with ISBN's and a small blurb from me or the publisher.
It's also a great list for picking up something new for your reading list, and the thread itself is open for posting questions or information about what you are currently reading or thinking about reading.
We don't offer PDF's of any books, public domain or not - there are many such sites for public domain materials. There is a backroom library for moderators, if you need a book and it's in the public domain we can retrieve it for you.

I Ching
The I Ching: A Biography ISBN: 9780691145099 (Also available in our store)
Richard J. Smith
One of Choice's Outstanding Academic Titles for 2012
Winner of the 2013 Cover/Jacket Merit Award in the Professional, Scholarly Series category, New York Book Show
A wonderful work on The I Ching, full of new information. Scholarly, but not dry, easy and enjoyable to read for a layman who likes I Ching and is familiar with it. The book is so unique and integral to I Ching study that our company is including it in their upcoming coursework for I Ching studies.
It's also a very attractive book, while most books from Princeton University Press are quite well bound, this one stands out. It is small with a heavy matte pearl finish dust jacket and the cloth binding is lapis blue with gold lettering. The leaves are deckle-edged (uneven like handmade very attractive). This would make a great gift for any fan of the I Ching or just a book nerd.
Sung Dynasty Uses of the I Ching ISBN: 9780691607764
Kidder Smith Jr., Peter K. Bol, Joseph A. Adler, & Don J. Wyatt
"The I Ching, or Book of Changes, has been one of the two or three most influential books in the Chinese canon. It has been used by people on all levels of society, both as a method of divination and as a source of essential ideas about the nature of heaven, earth, and humankind. During the eleventh and twelfth centuries, Sung dynasty literati turned to it for guidance in their fundamental reworking of the classical traditions. This book explores how four leading thinkers--Su Shih, Shao Yung, Ch'eng I, and Chu Hsi--applied the I Ching to these projects. These four men used the Book of Changes in strikingly different ways. Yet each claimed to find in it a sure foundation for human values. Their work established not only new meanings for the text but also new models for governance and moral philosophy that would be debated throughout the next thousand years of Chinese intellectual history. By focusing on their uses of the I Ching, this study casts a unique light on the complex continuity-within-change and rich diversity of Sung culture." - Princeton University Press
Tai Hsuan Ching
The Canon of Supreme Mystery: A Translation with Commentary of the T'ai hsuan ching (S U N Y Series in Chinese Philosophy and Culture)ISBN 0791413950
Michael Nylan
The T'Ai Hsuan Ching: The Hidden Classic A Lost Companion of the I Ching ISBN 978-0850303117
Derek Walters
"It saddens me that such an important book as this has been so inundated with controversy as to ultimately pull it from the racks and is only now available as a used copy. The controversy chiefly surrounds the treatment of the third "jen" flow type which Waters has identified as pertaining to Man while Nylan has it identified to Earth. We have a real controversy here that only time and additional archaeological discoveries can hope to resolve. Simply asserting that Walters has made an error does not resolve the matter as easily as the first commentator would like since there is at least as much evidence on his side of the argument as there is on Nylan's side, if not more. Moreover this is an invaluable book that is sufficiently ahead of its time as to render it a sleeper, for now. For those looking to better understand how the Lo Shu (river diagram) fits into things this is the consummate book on that question and we will just have to live with an underscoring controversy for an unknown period of time yet." - m1thr0s posting as Richard Voss to amazon

"Sage, scientist, and sorcerer, Hermes Trismegistus was the culture-hero of Hellenistic and Roman Egypt. A human (according to some) who had lived about the time of Moses, but now indisputably a god, he was credited with the authorship of numerous books on magic and the supernatural, alchemy, astrology, theology, and philosophy." - Princeton University Press
Abrahadabra: Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thelemic Magic ISBN: 1578633265
Rodney Orpheus
A terrible book on Yoga for white people, or dumbed down Crowley, this book was much worse than we originally thought it might be. Aleister Crowley is a British man who describes Yoga from his firsthand experiences in the West, the a Western audience, which leads to a deeper understanding between the two cultures. In "Abrahadabra UACTM" The chapters on Yoga are so godamned whitewashed it is almost a certainty the author bleached his asshole and powdered it before writing it, and his sphincter outshines Deepak Chopra in its pure unadulterated whiteyness. There is absolutely nothing about the formula of Abrahadabra in the entire book. The author spends a lot of time telling the reader what they are thinking and what they are going to do, and from his incorrect assumptions one can only assume that the intended audience was Whiny Bitches. You would get better information about magick reading Silver Ravenwolf's material quite frankly.
